The funny thing about Shadow (work)
is that you have to be IN the light
to see your shadow.
Full sun. Outdoors. Natural lighting. Best shadow views.
There’s something about doing the hard work in the daylight, results are different from working in shadows and secrecy.
I left Perfect World, jumped into a real world and new timeline,
(both feet no hesitation, trusting I can swim.)
I had to build a new character and wouldn’t you know it, the universe offered me a garden, so I became a gardener.
Of course I became a Master Gardener.
Of course I took a worn down project and turned it into a community.
Started with 10 busted raised beds, expanding onto front porch salad/herbs container gardens for seniors, seed bank, community tool locker, to backyard plots, developed an urban vacant lot to community garden, collaborating with farmers markets, to developing a second vacant lot… lining up to non-profit with the purpose of converting vacant and debilitated lots.
Isn’t ironic, don’t you think.
Once this solo effort gained a certain monetary momentum… Here comes the Haters.
Same routine… almost the exact same word, and definitely the same greed.
Maneuvering and manipulating to discredit my 6 years of proof so they can pilfer the grants that would have sustained that work.
According to their rule set I must have “lied, stole, deceived,” in some way…
Unable to show evidence of absurd claims, they fell back to, ad hominem, strawman,
(gaslight) “She doesn’t deserve it. She didn’t do anything special.”
If I had fought by their rules I might have kept the grants. That was not my game.
My game was building community, not cash flow.
They took the grant.
They couldn’t take the gardens,
they couldn’t take the gardeners
and they could not take away the mastery I shared by teaching.
Different rules make different worlds.
