For me it’s a never ending stream of  > Where does that come from? Cite your sources. Little peck peck, little cheap… It comes from outside, the source is someone else’s voice saying, “You are incapable/ incompetent/ inadequate.”    > Hard to sit in that and try to see it AS true. > Hard to shift…

For me it’s a never ending stream of  > Where does that come from? Cite your sources.

Little peck peck, little cheap… It comes from outside, the source is someone else’s voice saying, “You are incapable/ incompetent/ inadequate.”

> Hard to sit in that and try to see it AS true.

> Hard to shift to someone else point of view

Robot sez:

  • First Person POV → You see through the character’s eyes. The world is framed as if you are the character. (Example: Skyrim, Call of Duty in first person).
  • Over-the-Shoulder → A subtype of third-person view. The camera sits just behind and above the character’s shoulder, often offset slightly to the left or right. It feels more immersive and personal than pulled-back third person. (Example: Resident Evil 4, Gears of War, The Last of Us).
  • Above / Overview → Usually called top-down or isometric depending on the angle.
    • Top-down → Camera is directly above, looking straight down. (Example: Hotline Miami).
    • Isometric / Bird’s-eye view → Camera is angled from above, giving depth and showing more of the environment. (Example: Diablo, Hades).

The first person view is from the avatar’s eyes.  The PLAYER is the second person view.  Avatar operated by ego.

I always thought of the 3rd P.O.V. as a place of (Freudian) ID where the choices open, and the player can see their Character in a broader way.  Go left?  Go right?  It’s the purview of Shoulder Devil and Shoulder Angel.

Top-down, bird’s eye view is where super-ego can operate. Seeing the bigger scope allows you to Respond to situations instead of React.

Response is reasonable, rational, and aims at clarity and resolution.

Reaction is automatic, irrational, unreasonable and seeks  victory and domination.

Robot sez:

  • First person = I do this → you see through the character’s eyes.
  • Third person = They do this → you see your character from outside (over shoulder, top-down, etc).
  • Second person = You do this → the world is described (or shown) as if someone else is talking to you.
  • A narrator or text saying: “You walk into the room. You see a chest.” (classic text adventures).
  • A camera that shows your character through someone else’s eyes (for example, seeing yourself from the perspective of the enemy you’re facing).
  • In rare cases, games experiment with making you control “yourself” while watching from another character’s point of view.

So:

  • Over-the-shoulder and above/overview are third-person camera angles.
  • Second person isn’t really about camera placement — it’s about addressing the player as “you” (which works better in writing or narration)

You are the Main Character.  You are the player moving your avatar toward the end game goals.  It works a lot better if you really know who you are, and what you TRULY and deeply want.

You start to feel the choices in your movement.

Enlightened results in quicker recovery, more resilience, more tenacity. (Hint: you feel lighter)

Endarkened results in overburdened, burnt out, dragged down, going numb, going dark, immobile.

You have to shed off what doesn’t work for you and your end game goals.

Frustration is your body/heart/mind telling you that you are heading down a dark path.

A couple post ago I brought up this wizard I partnered with in Perfect World.

I got to that crossroad and realized,

I have to DROP and KICK that wizard follower that is supposed to keep me buffed and healed

while I am tanking the heavy blows.  Their draining half the loot and experience

and I find them afk doing something worse  than  -just not being there-  during a scheduled raid.

Blindly, numbly believing all the way to

the point when I realized

their heart was not in MY game

and I counted on them the most,

It was painful.

And Not The First Time.

Each dagger feels different.

With enough scars I finally see my pattern (shadow)

and how I actively played a part in all the choices leading to this/these moment/s.

I have to rectify that inside myself.

Ironically, the problem was all the advice my shoulder angel gave me about being a good person and needing to save others.

I am a good person, and

Learning to stop “saving” other people from their adult life choices

has been really difficult to learn.

This virtue >to want to rescue is a strength<

It was leveraged into reaction, reaction, reaction

as a mandate to demonstrate  “you still love me, right?”

2018 my answer was No.

What was playing out there was psychological manipulation.

I said, “I am cutting ties and walking away from the whole mess of it.

I am ready to be an adult in my life.

I don’t care what that wizard thinks/feels/believes/interprets/gossips/fabricates/ or farts.”

Or something similar.

This wizard clearly did not want to assume the responsibility of being an adult in his own life and played twisted mind games

to trick me into mother coddling his immaturity, and ignore/forgive/forget the infidelities, deceptions, and exploitations.

So I got on a plane and returned to my home state

and went directly to the Veterans Administration

to seek Mental Health Recovery.

2018

I made a CHOICE  to break through

co-dependency and stop enabling my own demise.
