Out of the Box

Is the cat alive? Schrodinger hopes not.

He’s trying to prove something → about himself, his brilliance and intellect,

(Or some such … clout maybe?)

Apparently his experiments have nothing to do with animal cruelty.

The laws have changed since 1935.

Now we know such an experiment would be illegal and unethical.

Then again,

Even as a “thought” experiment, it is reprehensible to inflict gory components into a probability lesson.

It seems like most of these Thought Experiments, put the quest-er in impossible and psychologically excruciating circumstances specifically to induce Uncertainty.

Combine with peer pressure, a professor’s grade, and a limit on time to present argumentation; (Doubt x 4 = Climate of Doubt) This builds a pressurized micro-sphere.

You’re your own little hamster balls of ineffectiveness and disintegrating confidence!!

 >>>> while arranged in a classroom discussion circle taking notes.

So, what is the preferred state of mind when having to make >REAL< life and death decisions?

Consider it.  Not a math problem.

IN the moment you are in survival mode.

[BTW the answer is completely different with gear, training and tools.]

Survival mode is a different neurological pathway, more integrated with the biochemical, somatic and nervous system inputs/output,

COMPARED to the neural route of classroom banter, with hypothetical objectively objectified plastic-pawn-lives at stake.

Stimulating a simulated/synthesized stressor to induce uncertainty, ineffectiveness and doubt routing in the neural pathway of logic/ reason/ ethics performed for grade in the comfort of a modern class room. Hmmm…

Why do you think you have the RIGHT answer?

What do you imagine a thought experiment is going to show you

About >>> how you would ACTUAL function or take action in a crisis situation?

It’s odd how the student’s place is always at the switch/knob/lever making the “choice”

…  and never one of the people who live or die as a consequence?

Now… That’s a horrific place to be, (as a thought experiment)…  on the consequence end of someone else’s pull of a lever, turn of a dial…

Especially after we saw the Stanford experiments from 1971.  Again with the SADISM??

Data over 50 years old,

that LAWS would prevent us from replicating NOW,

widely distributed, part of curriculums and criticisms

… and you think people are not going to RECOGNIZE the experiment??

We’ve had some time to think about this.

I’m pretty sure most reasonable rational people of earth

would decline the INVITATION

to participate in cruelty.

One step further…

I think most people recognize the levers, switches and toggles in their hands.

Most people KNOW they impact other people’s lives.

Real People. Real Lives.

I don’t know what You call it when your friend groupings are populated with Sadists who practice Cruelty as entertainment…??

Gossiping gleefully at someone else’s demise, forgetting (nay forsaken) humility/humanity/humanism.

You’re one of them, smiling nodding along…  even if you’re just “fronting” and you “feel/think/believe something different”…yk…>> something kinder.

You are still one of them

People, places, things.

Hamster balls to Habi-trails (echo tunnels) little colonies of contempt.

And

You are one of them.

No matter what you claim later, when basic human decency is trending again.

But keep pretending…   that will work (no it wont)

Is it really THAT hard to stand on principle?

>>>> in face of peer pressure, (like what? we’re still 12?)

>>>>>>>>In the face of lab coats and clip board authority?

Is it that hard… STILL?

idk Seems Un-American to me…

I kind of remember some declarations stopping THAT arbitrary nonsense.

“Quo warranto” and all.

One last thing: Stories start at home. Parents, siblings, extended fam, TV programming to make belief a PROJECTION about the world and “Your Place” in it.

You gotta SEE

You are the Author.

The Narrative around you

IS YOUR

Authority.

More than anyone else’s.

You are not an NPC in your own life.

Re-script:  Here’s some prompts:

If I were a kinder person, I might…

If I were a reasonable, rational person I might…

If I were a decent and humane person I absolutely would….

also try BRAVE

or Confident in myself…

If I were Confident in myself I might…
