As I was building this, I kept slipping into these mechanic spaces in my memories. Not just the garage spaces I got to see from waiting rooms, but the ones my Dad would take me to visit.

He taught Diesel Mechanics at the Vo-Tech, >>> a necessary skill as carnivals are run on diesel generators.

His father’s passing is part of my Dad’s decision to get a teaching degree and settle down.  More important to be around for his mother.

As a teacher, he’d spend time hunting “projects” for his students.  Following leads down forgotten roads to debilitated barns, and out-modded industrial districts rescuing engines from recyclers. There were always soda pop machines in these places.  A rare treat for little me. (Yoo-hoo in case you were wondering. Until I discovered peach Nehi and went through a phase.)

Hence Chim at Cooler

No garage is complete without a soda machine.  Ijs…  It’s the spirit lights… they burn cold.  Downstairs the Kobolds have an actual >>> ice chest- kind of insta-freeze.  My theory is they are shaped from permafrost, but I am reminded it doesn’t matter where it comes from… to Kobolds.

Which is part of the Found Philosophy.

Not “pick-pocket”… no, they found it, >> in my pocket.

Not that their fingers are sticky… but my mistake for leaving my personal affects around my personal space.  Imagine not hiding it in multiple stash locations, or setting traps?!! To a Kobold this is…  “asking for it.”  The items “beg” to be liberated from the Fool.

To Kobold the shinies, (coins/money) are meant to be hoarded, slept on, and/or used to buy loyalty.  Absurd to try to “save” or “invest.”  Also “trade” is what you will be allowed to walk away still carrying/wearing.

The shoe-leather luncheon is no joke. Leslie decided it was a P.R. problem and proposed building the “shops” to attract more “business.”  In astounding Kobold logic, the work went to almost usable spaces that resemble buildings, and faked the shop and merchant via trompe-l’oeil. The displays of meat, (butcher) bread, (Baker) and candles (candle-stick maker) are made in-house, fresh from the Kobold hoards. Hoards stocked well enough to run actual shops. For example, Leslie makes great bread and was excited to share recipes… but could not be convinced she should open a bakery.  The whole point was to steal wagons and there was no getting around it.

The hot-rod covered-wagon, newest design called a Goat-orghini…. (lamb = too small)

Fortunately, I travel by airship and not by wagon so my transport was not even of interest. No wheelz no dealz.

Kobold Choir…. cause it makes me happy. Just like setting up the looting of wagon in someone else’s map… I’ve been giggling through this whole build.

Visiting Everyone Else’s maps… !! Having the best fun.
