Challenges help us grow.

I am so grateful the DAM Challenges continues!

I’m asked how much time it takes to build the maps, and I don’t know.  I don’t keep track.  I kind of hang out in the game as much as I can, until it feels done.

It’s order of operation [this must be in place before the next layer is applied …etc]

So, time thinking about it, doing some research, making props/assets, I don’t keep track.

Some days I just leave the scene up on my monitor, enjoying the view.

I spent several days camping The Sea Cove.  This location was built by three legends. Asmodeus, HighlandL4ss, and Random_Ladybird!  This is Known as a “Hot DAM.” In-game game. Mappers pass a map around each adding a bit.

The jellyfish were made by Asmodeus and are animated!  HighlandL4ss brings a study of history. I’m betting most of the structural and shipwrecks on the bottom are arranged with that expert touch…  And Random Ladybird is a genius landscape artist! Most of the beautiful flowers in the workshop are hers… and ofc the beetles!  Can’t get to the beach… but virtually, can spend a day at The Sea Cove!

Appreciate the hard work of others. This is indeed one of the wiser things I’ve learned.  It’s more than walking a day in someone else’s shoes. That’ll give some insight and mostly blisters. It’s about understanding the accumulation of years, the mountain of challenges that they have already overcome just to get to where they are in life. The years of study that it took to make jellyfish and then make them dance, or to stay congruent in the wood tones of the broken ships and jetsam at the bottom of the cove, or to space the plants as they would naturally grow around boulders and underwater.

Lilandra’s Sky Prison won this challenge!  I whipped together a little video. Hope you enjoy it!

What else.. Oh… Building a bug is going to be so much better once we can tilt!!

I made a paper wasp! Mark1…

Not as refined as the spider, even so I am quite proud of my little flyer!
