Bullet Points
Linear………………………..Quantitative
In the 1990s my brother sent me a book, “to get on the same page” as he was… My thinking was “book-club!”
Turns out it was the new delineating line on who is “in” and who is “out” of his social circle.
Back then, I wanted to be in his circle.
So I studied, hoping one day we might have a talk and I could share my thoughts on the topic.
Not the case. Never happened. Sometimes my optimism doesn’t let me see how it’s really going down.
Difficult Topic.
No one in my Real World thought about the topic, wanted to discuss the topic, or were afraid of the ramifications of the topic.
The topic itself was alienating.
“There is no one right way to live” – Daniel Quinn (philosophical/ecological /theorist)
This is hard in 2D (polarizing) left/up/right/down. Cardinals. vectors, charts.
A bit easier to conceptualize in 3D adding dimension, angles and curves. Organic shapes. Spheres.
There is no One right way to center.
No single “correct” path
(nor its polar opposite) is the UNIVERSAL AXIOM.
Intuitively we know this when we realize the planet is a sphere and not a flat map.
Easier to see that “the map is not the territory.” 2D lacks that 3rd dimension.
Nature shows us infinite ways to reach the same objectives
in adaptation/bio-diversity/evolution.
Movement toward the outer and /or center has an infinite amount of paths, routes, channels, branches, approaches, etc.
2nd hard pill to swallow.
Not all ways work.
Including and especially theories that are nihilistic, self destructive, solipsistic or domineering.
These are not conducive to long life, collaboration, sustainability, growth or health.
Not all ways are equal.
Some lead True and yield good results.
Some lead False and yield bad results.
We can no longer hold (pretend) these modalities as equals.
It is time to have some clear discernment about what we are bringing into our center
and what we are broadcasting and cultivating outwardly.
